Exciting News!

Dear friends,

We want to share some exciting news: this September we will be growing the number of sisters at our house in the US. Sr. Janel will be moving from Rome to College Station, where her presence will bless the community life in Texas, as well as our growing apostolate within and beyond the Austin diocese. Sr. Janel, who has spent 20 years in Rome, has a wealth of experience in formation, and she will help to implement an initial phase of formation, in the US, for young women who apply to join our community.

To facilitate this growth, we will be renting a second living space near our current house. We trust in God’s Providence to provide for our needs, especially through the generosity of those who support our mission in so many ways.

Please pray for us during this time of new initiatives!

Sr. Michela

Dear Friends,

We have some exciting news we would like to share with you!  Like every summer, we are in the midst of days of formation and community time all together in Rome.  This year has brought with it a particular grace as we have had the opportunity to spend ten days in General Assembly to be in dialogue together, to share ideas and discern a vision for the Community for the next five years. At the end of this blessed time, on June 22nd, we voted and elected the governing body tasked with implementing this vision.

We have re-elected Sr. Michela as our General Superior for the next five years; she will be assisted in her role by four Council members: Sr. Tatum, Sr. Debbie, Sr. Clara and Sr. Raffaella. Please keep them and all of us sisters in your prayers, that we may be docile to the inspirations of the Holy Spirit and continue our mission in the Church according to God’s will and the desires of His loving Heart.

We also had a chance to celebrate Sr. Janel and thank God for her twenty years of mission in Italy. She will be returning to the States in September and we wanted to lift her up in prayer during a special Holy Hour together with many friends who came from near and far.

We are about to leave Rome for the beautiful hill country of central Italy in Umbria, native place of many saints, for two weeks of community time. As we rest after a year of apostolic mission, we promise to keep each one of you in our prayers and in our hearts! Fr. Salvatore, our 97-year-old Founder, will join us. We are all excited to enjoy the peace and quiet of a medieval town in Umbria.

We pray and hope that your summer will be a restful and refreshing time with family, friends and the Lord!

Grateful for each and every one of you,

The Apostles of the Interior Life

Members of the 2024 General Assembly.

Council members (R to L): Sr. Tatum, Sr. Raffaella, (Sr. Michela), Sr. Debbie, and Sr. Clara.

“Whoever drinks the water I shall give will never thirst.” – John 4:14

The Apostles of the Interior Life are consecrated women who dedicate their lives through the profession of the evangelical counsels of chastity, poverty, and obedience. They live in community and have prayer at the center of their day. Their apostolate ranges from evangelization to spiritual formation, including spiritual direction. At the heart of their apostolate is the personal relationship, reaching out to people in their various environments and needs, with a particular care for the youth and young adults. The Gospel passage that inspires their charism most is the Samaritan woman who meets Jesus one-on-one at the well and can’t help but leave her jar and go announce Him to others right away.

Vocations

Read about what a discernment journey with the Apostles looks like

beauty of consecrated life

“A vocation is so mysterious a gift, a thing so locked in the inner court of the soul, where alone God speaks His wishes, that no one can properly describe or explain it. What can be said is that a true vocation is a call so compelling that a soul must loosen its hold on the dearest and even the holiest of its loves to rise up and follow the summons.”

– Mother Mary Francis
